Jo Ann's Story
When I got out of high school I traveled to Alaska, before getting married to a Ward High School gradate. After 6 years of marriage and two sons, I divorced raising my children on my own. I then went to collage.
When my sons were teenager's I took into my home two of their friends. Making a total of 4 boys to raise on my own, as I did not remarrage. I losted 3 to death. Two in one year and then my youngest son, Luke Andrew Nilges was shot and killed at the Ward Parkway Mall Mass Shooting in Kansas City, Missouri April 2007. A few weeks after turning 30.
My Godchild was named after my son, Andrew Peace. He was born on my birthday July 15.

I was choosen out of 10 applicants to training at the Abilene Grayhound Racing School.
I was asked to make a gift basket for Oprah Winfrey's dogs.
My cat, Oreo's Luck Backjack place 9th Best Cat in the Midwest Regionals.
Mountain biked down Pikes Peak in Colorado.
Rode a horse in a parade.
Met with Congressman Dennis Moore.
Had my picture taken with Stedman Graham, Oprah Winfrey's significant other.
Showed dogs.
5K runs.

Worked at Providence Medical Center on the Psychiatric Ward. Currently working for DeSoto School District with Special Educational Students 18 - 21.
